CM: Miralem Pjanic

Miralem Pjanic’s performances have fallen victim to a lack of free kick duties and to Juve’s playing style throughout the season. However, he has a perfect opportunity to begin changing that against AC Milan. Juve will likely dominate possession throughout this match and Milan has lacked a real defensive threat in the midfield this season. That should give Pjanic plenty of time and space to open up Milan’s defense. He has gone more than a month without an assist, but that could change here.

CM: Rodrigo Bentancur

Rodrigo Bentancur will replace Emre Can in the starting lineup as he makes his first start since picking up a red card against Sampdoria. He has been unbelievably impressive for Juve this season when they needed him to step up in a shallow midfield. Now with Aaron Ramsey reportedly set to join Juventus in the summer he will need to continue to impress if he hopes to hold onto his starting spot. AC Milan’s struggling midfield could serve as the perfect opposition for him to begin making Juve rethink whether or not they really need another midfielder.

CM: Blaise Matuidi

We all know what we’re gonna get here. Blaise Matuidi won’t do anything that makes the highlight reel in this match, but he will once again be called upon for a high-effort defensive performance. Against Milan’s midfield he should be able to keep Juventus in control of this match throughout. It might not the be the most glamorous role, but Matuidi always gets the job done.
