LW: Cristiano Ronaldo 8/10

Of course Cristiano Ronaldo was the player to deliver Juve’s first trophy of the season. His run was timed perfectly to meet Pjanic’s beautiful delivery and he made no mistake once he was past the defense. He didn’t do much else of not over the course of the match, but he did keep his incredible run of form alive with this goal. He has now scored 5 goals and assisted one more in his last 7 appearances across all competitions and that includes 2 appearances as a sub. He has looked unstoppable throughout the season and now he has added another trophy to his collection.

ST: Paulo Dybala 6.5/10

To the surprise of only Massimiliano Allegri, Paulo Dybala once again wasn’t all that impressive playing in the 4-3-3 formation. As the lone striker he was unable to give Juve’s wings a real target to send crosses to and Milan’s compact defense made it very difficult for him to get involved through the middle of the field. He just doesn’t fit in this Juve squad as it is currently constructed and that showed once again on Wednesday.

RW: Douglas Costa 8/10

Massimiliano Allegri should have one main takeaway from this match. That takeaway is that he needs to make Douglas Costa a regular starter. Juventus has lacked a real threat on the right side when Paulo Dybala has started on the wing, but Douglas Costa was every bit of the threat Juve needed against Milan. He repeatedly beat the left side of Milan’s defense to create space for himself and his teammates and sent in a few dangerous crosses. Without Mandzukic he didn’t really have a great target for those crosses, but if Juve gets him on the field with Mandzukic when the Croatian is healthy it will be the best version of the team we have seen this year. I just hope Allegri finally figures it out.
