Arsenal want to bring back Marc Overmars to replace Sven Mislintat

Arsenal is having troubles behind the scenes and there’s only one man for the job.

When Sven Mislintat arrived at Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund last season, there was a lot of hype. For too long before this, the Gunners had problems with their recruitment procedure, meaning they weren’t able to sign many big names.

Mislintat had a good start to life at the Emirates Stadium. Within his first transfer window, he was responsible for bringing in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Konstantinos Mavropanos. All of which started life at Arsenal well, albeit the latter two have tailed off slightly.

Now it’s reported that Arsenal are having troubles behind the scenes. Along with the new managerial appointment in Unai Emery, Mislintat is struggling to get on with his job. That said, The Mirror have reported that the Gunners could look to replace Mislintat.

If you’re an Arsenal fan, then chances are you’ve heard of Marc Overmars. If you haven’t, then a quick YouTube search or read of my top 10 players to play under Arsene Wenger will do the trick. Long story short, he’s a club legend.

But he’s now working with AFC Ajax behind the scenes as their director of football. He must be doing a pretty good job, because Ajax have the confidence to start their European plea, reaching the Europa League final a few seasons ago.

Arsenal wish to bring Overmars back as their technical director. The terms are confusing, I know, but he’ll essentially be carrying out the same roles as Mislintat is doing.

The Gunners need a kick in the right direction, so bringing Overmars back to North London will only serve them well. He knows the club well, and it’s about time they had a shuffle at the top. His appointment would only reignite their desire to achieve at the top level.
