Left Back- Sergio Reguilon- 8/10

It was a surprising decision by Santiago Solari to start Sergio Reguilon ahead of Marcelo in such an important match, but it did pay off in the end. The Real Madrid academy graduate put in yet another balanced and level-headed display throughout the game. Reguilon was credited with an assist for Casemiro’s goal, though most of the work was the scorers.

Centre Back- Sergio Ramos- 9/10

Sergio Ramos was all over the place for Real Madrid on his 450th La Liga Santander appearance. The Real Madrid captain won a lot of aerial duels and kept Andre Silva, one of the visitors’ main threats quite. Sergio Ramos had more than 15 ball retrievals by the end of the match and he has won the ball most times in La Liga Santander 2018/19 at this point.

Centre Back- Raphael Varane- 8.5/10

Raphael Varane starred alongside Sergio Ramos in the centre of defence and did a superb job at keeping his compatriot Wissam Ben Yedder silent throughout the match. The World Cup winner was not called into action too many times, but whenever he had to win the ball, he did it without too much fuss and churned out a responsible and rounded performance.

Right Back- Dani Carvajal- 8/10

Dani Carvajal continued his tremendous run of form against Sevilla. It was yet another aggressive and attacking minded display from the Real Madrid full back, but he made sure that the defensive duties were fulfilled as well. Carvajal kept Sergio Escudero’s threat away and was lethal when going forward. He deserved to get on the assist card at least once.
