Juventus won their first trophy of their year on Wednesday, but now they’ll turn their attention back to claiming another trophy when they return to Serie A action.
They have yet to face much of a challenge during the Serie A season, cruising to a 17-2-0 record during the first half of the season. That includes winning 9 of their last 10 Serie A matches en route to a 9 point lead over second place Napoli.
Chievo Verona made things difficult for Juventus in the season opener, but at this point it looks like that will be the highlight of their season. Since then they have been hit with a 3 point deduction and struggled to a 1-8-10 record that currently has them in last place in the league. Their only win actually came in their last match when they beat Frosinone (who has actually been the worst team in the league this year) at home.
In spite of the difficulties they had in the first match against Chievo, it’s likely that Juventus will do some rotating. They will also be missing Andrea Barzagli, Medhi Benatia, Juan Cuadrado, and Mario Mandzukic due to injury and Miralem Pjanic because of a suspension. However, they will still use their usual 4-3-3 formation in spite of the changes that will come to the starting lineup.
