CM: Rodrigo Bentancur

Rodrigo Bentancur picked up a muscular injury against Milan on Wednesday, but it seems likely that he will still start this match. With Miralem Pjanic unavailable, Juventus won’t want to rest another regular starter in the midfield. Emre Can just hasn’t been good enough this year and Sami Khedira isn’t good enough to start regularly at all anymore. Bentancur will be asked to take over Pjanic’s usual playmaking duties in his absence. He has been great this season and the match against Chievo should be another chance for him to show off his developing skills.

CM: Emre Can

Emre Can hasn’t been the player Juve hoped for when they signed him yet this season. However, he is still more capable than Sami Khedira at this point in each of their careers. That should lead to him taking Pjanic’s place for the match. It’s a perfect opportunity for him to try to get comfortable with his new team after his early struggles. Chievo has been pretty bad this year and Can should be able to take advantage of that.

CM: Blaise Matuidi

I’m going to keep this one short. We all know what Matuidi is here for. Juventus will control this match from start to finish and it will be Blaise Matuidi’s defensive efforts that allow them to dominate possession. He’ll probably try to get involved in the attack occasionally because of the quality of opposition, but for the most part it will be business as usual for the French midfielder.
