Barcelona and Real Madrid have a history of some hostile transfer dealings, so no idea as to how this one could potentially pan out.

Tuesday marked exactly one year since Alexis Sanchez’s arrival at Manchester United in a swap deal from Arsenal. The Chile international gets paid half a million pounds per week and has already cashed in on 24 million pounds just through his basic wages during his time at the Old Trafford.

However, there has been a massive disparity in the performances of Alexis Sanchez and the wage which is being paid to him. Over 32 Premier League matches for the Red Devils, Sanchez has found the back of the net just four times. Under Jose Mourinho this season, he continued to be a substitute and Solskjaer has not changed his situation either.

More from Real Madrid

Sanchez is growing frustrated with the way things are panning out in the north of England and wants to move out. The former Barcelona forward is willing to take a pay cut in order to move to a better club and he has his eyes set on Real Madrid. There has already been contact, but nothing has been concrete so far.

As per reports, Alexis Sanchez has once again reminded Florentino Perez that he is up for grab in the transfer market. However, the Real Madrid President has simply vetoed the move because he does not want to sign a player entering his thirties, and certainly not someone who has worn away from his prime.

Real Madrid is still looking to sign a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo and among a gazillion names which have been linked with the club, Eden Hazard’s move seems imminent in the summer and the Belgium international continues to be a priority for Real Madrid, and in particular, their president- Florentino Perez.

The Whites are absolutely correct to deny a move for Alexis Sanchez because he is likely to be a waste of money and not worth the effort of bringing in. Moreover, they will only spoil their own image by signing an ex-Barcelona product who had an irregular last season at the club in 2013/14 and has now turned into a deadweight at Manchester United.
