LM: Federico Bernardeschi 8.5/10

Federico Bernardeschi made his first Serie A start since October on Monday and he absolutely made it count. He was a constant threat throughout the match, playing his teammates into dangerous areas and finding space for his own chances. His free kick delivery that led to Rugani’s goal was beautiful. Juventus has way too much talent available on the right wing, especially when the player they usually start there is the only one who doesn’t belong in the position.

CM: Emre Can 8.5/10

This was easily Emre Can’s best performance of his Juventus career. He was a dominant defensive force in the midfield, making 7 tackles. He also made a perfect run to get the space to score the first goal of his Juventus career. He passed the ball well and for the first time seemed to really fit in at Juve. If this was a glimpse of what we can expect in the future then he’ll be more than worth his salary.

CM: Blaise Matuidi 6.5/10

This was another slow day for Blaise Matuidi. He really wasn’t asked to do much of anything defensively and that meant that his only way to contribute to the match was to get out of his comfort zone. He passed the ball well throughout the match, but didn’t create anything too dangerous. His performance the first time Juve played Lazio was one of his best of the year and he’ll be hoping to replicate that in his next match.

RM: Douglas Costa 8.5/10

Can we please get this man in the starting lineup every match? He was absolutely incredible against Chievo. His goal was phenomenal as he made a fantastic run and then shot back across his body to the far post to beat the keeper. If there is any question left to ask of Juventus after this match it is why it took an injury to Mario Mandzukic for Costa to start getting regular playing time. He has been Juve’s most dangerous attacker since the start of 2019 and he has made it clear that he should be starting on the right wing when Juve meets Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
