Sergio Ramos asks Real Madrid to sign PSG central defender
Real Madrid are expected to sign a central defender as Jesus Vallejo’s fitness issues have not made him able enough to play regularly and Sergio Ramos has a suggestion.
Real Madrid are nearing closures of two business deals concerning their defence as Mario Hermoso and Eder Militao. However, both the youngsters are probably going to have a tough time breaking into the Real Madrid side immediately and could be loaned out to destinations where they may get to play regularly before returning to the White House.
The Real Madrid President will now be turning his attention to signing a central defender who can compete with the likes of Sergio Ramos, Raphael Varane and Nacho Fernandez. Several names may have surely gone through the mind of the 71-year-old, but the captain of his first team has suggested a name which might turn out to be a super arrival.

Sergio Ramos is inarguably the best defender in the world and knows the technicality of the game better than most experts as well. The 32-year-old has now suggested to Florentino Perez that Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos could be an amazing signing, especially given his age and worth.
When the Brazilian was 18 years old, he made the cut for AS Roma and was snapped up by Paris Saint-Germain. The French champions are going to have to sell either one of Neymar or Mbappe to escape punishment for breaching UEFA’s Financial Fair Play Regulations, but they may be forced into selling some more players.
Thomas Tuchel is a big fan of the 24-year-old but in order to raise money and show finances, he could be forced to sell Marquinhos. Paris Saint-Germain value him at 35 million euros, but the indication is that they will not be ready to budge unless a suitor comes with an offer of at least 60 million to buy him.
If Real Madrid manage to snap up the signatures of Marquinhos, then all signs point to one of their first team defenders leaving the club. Sergio Ramos is the least likely to go whereas Raphael Varane and Nacho Fernandez would not be dished out either, so all signs point towards Jesus Vallejo who has been unconvincing and lacked an impact anyway.
Verdict
A central defender is needed with Sergio Ramos ageing and nearing the dusk of his career in spite of showing no signs of slowing down. Raphael Varane is one for the future whereas Nacho Fernandez is very loyal and will not leave the club. But a fourth player is needed to compete in all three annual competitions and Javi Sanchez or Jesus Vallejo are not ready yet.
At 60 million, Marquinhos could be a superb arrival especially given his age. Moreover, Casemiro and Marcelo would help their compatriot in getting settled quickly at the Santiago Bernabeu, and Neymar could come in as well to reunite with some of his closest buddies from the national setup.
