Left Winger- Vinicius Junior- 8/10
Vinicius Junior once again caught the Bernabeu by surprise with another dazzling display against the Catalan side on Thursday. The 18-year-old did a terrific job on the left hand side along with Marcelo and was highly involved in the gameplays throughout the match. The Brazilian youngster earned a penalty in the first half and assisted Karim Benzema in the second period. He’s now gotten five assists in the Copa del Rey, more than any other player in the competition this season.
Striker- Karim Benzema- 9.5/10
Karim Benzema stuck the dagger in Girona’s hearts on the night by scoring Real Madrid’s fourth goal, and only his second in 2019 but he showed that it was yet another fantastic performance even if he had not scored. The Frenchman’s grandeur in the match was his hold-up play to ensure that Vinicius, Vazquez, Marcelo and Odriozola move forward quickly. He was in the creation centre of almost every big chance that Madrid created and it was some intelligent movement in the box to drag men away from others as well. If he can finish perfectly, Karim will be 10 out of 10 with these displays.
Right Winger- Lucas Vazquez- 8/10
Lucas Vazquez was once again the right winger and he scored in his second cup game in a row at the Santiago Bernabeu. The 27-year-old’s movement in the box was utterly smart as he stayed behind for Odriozola to cut the ball back. Vazquez will be playing against Espanyol over the weekend, and it will certainly be an emotional match for him given that he spent a year on loan at the El Prat in 2014/15. However, he will look to get onto the scoresheet again.
