3. Ivan Perisic wants the move more than Denis does

This is one of the underlying factors which influence my stance. You may not agree with me, but I think that desire to play for Arsenal is the most important factor in transfer decisions. If Perisic wants it more than Denis, then that gives him an advantage.

Arsenal has an immensely talented squad, that’s for sure. There are players in there which most top clubs would salivate over. Yet again, it’s simply a mentality problem, and it’s something that Emery must fix.

In fairness, this has greatly improved since last season since most of the players WANT to play for the badge. It’s why they manage to consistently dig their head out of the sand, which wasn’t the case last season.

Perisic was recently dropped by Internazionale since he was too ‘distracted’ by Arsenal’s interest. That’s a good thing though! It shows that he is seriously considering making the move to English football, with Arsenal swaying him in that direction.

Am I saying that morale is the be all or end all? No, of course not. Jenkinson loves the club, but I’ve been saying he should be shipped out for a long time. What I’m simply saying is that it’s a start, and Perisic clearly has the talent to match, so why not go for him?

I mean, Arsenal are currently pursuing a loan move for the Croatian. This will give them an idea of whether or not Perisic REALLY wants to play for them. If the decision is yes, then they stand on a good front to pay. If the decision is no, then what have they lost? Nothing.
