4. Perisic is proven at the top level
“Top level” is an understatement here. He’s proven at the HIGHEST level in football. I mean, come on, he reached a World Cup favourite (as an underdog too) while also scoring in that match. That’s not something that many can say.
It was a very successful World Cup campaign for Perisic. In fact, he was one of the standout performers for Croatia. He scored three times and contributed to an assist in the competition. At the time, he was heavily linked with Manchester United and many Red Devils were excited after watching him perform.
Arsenal needs solidity in their transfers. They must be assured that whoever they spend money on will benefit them in some way. Obviously, this is where they miss Sven Mislintat but they can be pretty reassured from Perisic’s World Cup run. You must be some player to keep a cool head on such a big stage.
Arsenal has improved massively on their big game input. They are reaching the semifinals and finals of competitions much more consistently now. They have beaten both Chelsea and Tottenham this season while pulling a late equaliser against Liverpool earlier in the season.
This might not seem like much, but they are still in a period of rebuilding after Arsene Wenger’s departure, so they are steps in the right direction. Throwing Perisic into the mix will only improve the team as a whole, as well as the inexperienced players. Everybody has something to learn.
