Napoli’s draw against Milan gives Juventus the chance to build a double digit lead atop Serie A in January for the first time during their run of consecutive Scudetti.

Juventus has absolutely dominated Serie A this season and now they have a chance to extend their at the top of the Serie A table to 11 points. At 18-2-0 they are the only team in the top 5 leagues that remains undefeated in domestic play. They also already hold a win over Lazio this season and currently have the league’s 2nd best attack and best defensive record.

Lazio’s season has been very up and down. They finished only second in their Europa League group, beating out Apollon Limassol by 2 points. Now, they are barely holding on to a spot in the Europa League for next year. They have gone 2-2-2 in their last 6 matches in Serie A and are currently 9-5-6 for the season. A loss to Juventus could see them fall behind Atalanta and out of their Europa League spot. They’ll need to be at their absolute best to prevent that from happening.

Juventus will chase the 11 point lead without some familiar faces. They’ll be missing Juan Cuadrado, Andrea Barzagli, Sami Khedira and Mario Mandzukic and have also sold Medhi Benatia. This means that they could be in either their usual 4-3-3 formation or they could try to stick with the 4-4-2 that worked so well against Chievo last week.
