GK: Wojciech Szczesny

Wojciech Szczesny will be hoping to repeat his performance from this season’s first match against Lazio when they meet again on Sunday. In that match he made 2 saves en route to his first clean sheet of the season. He’ll be well rested heading into this match after being given the day off on Monday, but Mattia Perin putting in another solid effort in his absence means Szczesny will need to continue to perform well to keep his starting job.

LB: Alex Sandro

Alex Sandro has been playing at an extremely high level since the beginning of December and Juve will be hoping he can keep playing at that level as they hit a tough stretch in the schedule. For this match it is likely that Juve will once again be without Joao Cancelo, so there will be extra attacking responsibilities thrust upon Sandro. He has excelled lately when Cancelo has been absent, taking on the extra workload with relative ease. That excellence coupled with his defensive abilities will be a key piece of Juve’s attempt to move 11 points clear of the rest of the league and their continued success as they face 8 matches in 36 days, including 6 on the road.

RB: Mattia De Sciglio

With Joao Cancelo still working his way back to 100% it looks like Juve will call upon Mattia De Sciglio for the second consecutive match. He isn’t quite the player that Cancelo is, but he has played well as he has worked his way back from injury. He hasn’t been able to take advantage of Juve’s dominance in the attacking half in recent matches, but he has played well on the defensive end. He doesn’t have any chance of replacing Cancelo in the future, but if he continues to play well on the defensive end then Juve will be able to continue trusting him when Cancelo needs a day off.
