The Blues have finally spoken up…
Chelsea is going through a strange season. Their first season under Maurizio Sarri has been relatively good, however, they find themselves falling further and further adrift of the top spots. They currently sit in fourth place, so keeping their star players will be important in their quest to remain in the top four. Eden Hazard is their best player, which goes without saying. He is often spoken about as the best player in the league, so that speaks volumes of how well he performs.
However, according to the Evening Standard, Chelsea could be willing to part ways with him. With Real Madrid breathing down their necks, the Blues are willing to let him go for a fee of over £100m. He has time running out on his contract, so Real Madrid can afford to negotiate.

Maurizio Sarri will probably be happy that Hazard didn’t push for a move in January. In fairness to the Belgian, he did say he would remain loyal to the club until at least the end of the season. He doesn’t seem to feel unnerved during his time at Stamford Bridge so it should be a peaceful exit if he does leave.
The Blues would have obviously been battling to tie him to a new contract, however, there are some battles you just can’t win. At the end of the day, the player holds the pivotal decision when it comes to signing contracts so nobody can have any complaints with the board.
Real Madrid desperately need Eden Hazard
Real Madrid is in an interesting predicament. They are still trying to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, after the Portuguese winger left to join Juventus in the summer. Their attacking play has suffered detrimental blows and can only be mended with a direct switch.
Hazard is somewhat similar to Ronaldo, although he is amazing in his own right. The Belgian is far more creative than Ronaldo is, often being criticised for being too unselfish. However, if he joins Madrid then he will be greeted with the service of Isco Alarcon and others.
Do you think Chelsea should sell Eden Hazard in the summer?
