Manchester United is in the mood to give out big cheques…

Under their new interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Manchester United is enjoying some fine form. They have yet to lose a game under the Norwegian, scoring plenty of goals during the time. In fact, he has even altered the mood of some players. Anthony Martial, for example, was not loving life under Jose Mourinho but he has recently signed a new contract.

According to The Mirror, the Red Devils could be adding David de Gea to the list of contract renewals. The Spaniard has been linked with a move away to Real Madrid for some time now but he could become a big earner. In fact, he could become Manchester United’s second-highest earner if his request for £350,000 per week is accepted.

Why not Real Madrid?

More from Manchester United

While de Gea doesn’t seem to be hating life at Old Trafford, I have no doubt in my mind that he will be considering a move to the Santiago Bernabeu. I mean, who wouldn’t?

The Galacticos could offer de Gea some serious game time. That says a lot considering Keylor Navas is one of the best goalkeepers in the world. However, in my opinion, de Gea is the best goalkeeper in the world currently.

Alexis Sanchez has done more harm than good

I don’t want to bring the old chestnut out but de Gea’s high demands only make me think of Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean is on ridiculous wages of £400,000 per week after signing from Arsenal last season. Since he has arrived, there have been a few cases of players wishing for higher wages, with de Gea being just one example.

Should de Gea be granted his request of £350,000 per week then this would only add to the conundrum and cause problems for the board. They need to implement a stricter wage policy, it’s the only negative thing about the club at the moment.

Next. Solskjaer has proven everything he needs to prove. dark

Do you think David de Gea is worth paying £350,000 per week?
