Isco was a massive part of Real Madrid’s successes under Zinedine Zidane, but the boss could swing the axe on the Spaniard during the summer.

Real Madrid were enduring a difficult couple of weeks before they got back to winning ways last Sunday courtesy of a 4-1 success at Real Valladolid. Nonetheless, that turned out to be the last match which was overseen by Santiago Solari before he was replaced by Zinedine Zidane as the first team manager.

More from Real Madrid

The French coach has demanded complete control of matters which include but are not limited to the sales and purchases of players. Zizou will not stand anyone intervening in matters directly pertaining to the team and wants to make decisions of his own. A lot of players are definitely going to be impacted by this.

Some young players might suffer due to Zidane’s preference towards the experience stars. The likes of Gareth Bale as well as Dani Ceballos could be heading out during the summer and players like Isco and Marcelo are expected to be the central figures of the team again, not without a lot of signings during the summer.

But rumour now has it that Isco, the former Malaga man, could be set to suffer the same fate as he did under Santiago Solari and may well be leaving the club at the end of this season. The Andalusian was not well treated by Zidane, and his earlier problems with Zidane may keep him out of the team yet again- though it seems more unlikely than not.

A journalist working in the Spanish media claims that we could see Isco donning a Barcelona jersey soon and play with Lionel Messi at the Camp Nou from the next season. The Whites will certainly make a lot of money out of Isco’s potential sale, but there will definitely be a lot of bitter that they taste from one of their own.

Nonetheless, it seems very improbable of Isco to join Barcelona, especially because he still respects and loves Real Madrid. The Spain international could possibly head to the Premier League with Manchester City and Liverpool being linked with him. But again, the fact that he’s fallen out with Zidane does not make much sense- especially after 2016 to 2018’s success.
