#3 – Serge Gnabry

The one Bayern Munich player who really made a difference in the outcome of the game was winger, Serge Gnabry. It is not often you see a player who can really bug Andy Robertson, as he is a great one versus one defender. However, Gnabry turned him inside out a couple of times running down the wing.

Gnabry’s shoulder fake is very deceiving and sent Robertson home packing a couple of times. It was also his low driven cross that Matip ended up playing into his own net.

The German is very quick with the ball at his feet and his misdirection was really the biggest threat to Liverpool, especially with their fullbacks playing so high up the pitch. This ended up actually taking away from how much Gnabry could do because he was having to track back and try and prevent the runs from Robertson and Mane past a struggling Rafinha.

In a game where most of his teammates were missing, the 23 year-old was always trying to push forward and run an attack, but in the end it just was not enough to surpass the Liverpool defense.
