#1 – Sadio Mane

The man of the hour, Sadio Mane. Two brilliant goals see Mane to the top of Liverpool’s away goals in the Champion’s League list, now tied at eight with Roberto Firmino and Steven Gerrard. His cutback for the first goal on Neuer was sublime, and the dink finish was even prettier.

The Senegalese winger has Rafinha’s number all night, and Bayern surely missed the presence of Joshua Kimmich at right back. Mane’s second goal was a gem too as he headed a beautiful Mo Salah cross into the webbing of the goal.

Usually, Mane’s touch is quite heavy and loose, but he kept it under control against Bayern and was able to attack with the ball at his feet. Towards the beginning of the game he was also switching positions with Salah and Firmino to go down the right and middle on alternating runs, which made it so hard for the Germans to defend. As Premier League fans saw against Watford, Mane got a brace and is deadly playing in the middle of the field.

dark. Next. Ronaldo got the glory, but Allegri deserves the credit

The Liverpool winger is on fire as of late, having ten goals in ten games in all competitions. Sometimes he is berated for being wasteful, but he sure was not on Wednesday night, as he almost solely killed off Bayern’s Champion’s League hopes and dreams.
