Don’t be surprised if Chelsea doesn’t accept…
Eden Hazard runs out of contract with Chelsea next summer. That said, there is more leeway for Real Madrid in terms of bumping the price down slightly. That is, of course, if they wish to sign the Chelsea talisman. Judging by their previous transfer windows, this wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest.
According to a new report from The Sun, Real Madrid will open their bidding for Eden Hazard with a fee of £70m. I always take reports from The Sun with a pinch of salt, but who knows? Perhaps there is some truth in this story.
Chelsea probably will not accept

Although Hazard will be entering the final season of his contract, this offer is tiny in comparison to what Real Madrid should be paying. Of course, it seems likely that Hazard wants the move to Madrid, so you cannot blame them for bartering with their initial offer
Chelsea will probably want a little bit more money. Similarly, I cannot blame them either if that is the case. After all, Hazard is their best player so I’m sure that they would rather get another season out of him than gain just £70m.
£70m used to be a huge fee. However, football has changed, particularly in the Premier League. As a Premier League club, such a fee won’t get you as much as it used to, since a lot of television revenue, marketing, etc has gone into the English league to make it the most renowned and wealthiest.
Real Madrid must pay extra for Eden Hazard
Hazard is a truly valuable player. The reason why he costs so much isn’t just because of his infamous sliding celebration, but because he is one of the best players in the world. With Cristiano Ronaldo‘s departure proving costly to Madrid, they need someone of Hazard’s calibre as soon as possible.
They cannot afford to wait any longer, so this summer must be when they cough up the fees, even if they feel like they are over-paying. If not, there are bound to be other European clubs interested in acquiring his signature.
Hazard would bring plenty of flair to the Madrid setup, while also aiding a number of the other attacking options. He is known for being unselfish and a creative player, however, if he does sign for Madrid, hopefully, he will become more selfish to truly replicate the great Cristiano Ronaldo.
Do you think Real Madrid will sign Eden Hazard from Chelsea this summer?
