Barcelona will questionably cool their interest of Antoine Griezmann
By Kian Long
Barcelona should be pushing further in their chase for Antoine Griezmann, but instead, they are backing off…
Atletico Madrid has been in questionable form lately, but they still sit second in La Liga behind the leaders Barcelona. Admittedly, Atletico hasn’t had much help from their starman Antoine Griezmann, despite him being pretty solid throughout the rest of the season. By solid, I mean in general because, by his standards, he could be doing better.
Anyway, it’s now been revealed that Barcelona ‘have cooled their interest’ in Griezmann. This is according to The Mirror, who believe that Manchester United will be back in the race for the Frenchman.
Barcelona needn’t be worried about Manchester United

As far as Barcelona are concerned, Manchester United is a thing of the past. Believe me, this will be proven when the Catalans come up against the Mancunians in the Champions League.
Of the two, Barcelona is the more attractive outfit. United is still a big club but, come on, who is Griezmann going to choose? Even given his ties with Atletico Madrid currently, I’m sure he is not going to turn down a move to the biggest club in the world, Barcelona.
Manchester United has been linked with a move for Griezmann many times in the past. Quite frankly, it’s getting boring now. Perhaps Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a new-found devotion for the French attacker but if Griezmann was to join United, it would have happened long before now.
Lionel Messi would be on board
One of the main talking points when it comes to Barcelona’s transfer business is “Will Messi agree?” And in this case, the answer is yes.
It was reported earlier that Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez had been suggesting their successors to Barcelona. This means they know their time is sadly coming to an end, so they are looking for players to continue their legacy.
Lionel Messi will be familiar with Griezmann. He will know all about his somewhat false-nine approach, looking to utilise any space he is given. This will be beneficial to Barcelona’s long-lasting, pass-orientated play.
