Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez want Barcelona to sign their successors before they are departed from the club, and have shortlisted names for the club to look at.

Barcelona frontmen Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi are entering the twilights of their respective careers. The striker and one of the world’s most lethal goal scorers has turned 32 this year, whereas the latter will be touching the number exactly five months after his partner in crime- June 24.

What the two have done for the club over the last four and a half years at the club alongside each other is absolutely incredible and it is hard to believe that they have scored over half of the team’s goals during the running. Replacing the two mercurial forwards is going to be a mammoth task for Barcelona for sure.

Both Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez have acknowledged the fact that Barcelona needs to start looking for their replacements. While replacing the Argentina captain is going to be a nearly impossible task, there could be quite a few players who may be able to fill into Luis Suarez’s boots at Barcelona.

Having considered some options available in the transfer market, the pair feels that Eintracht Frankfurt striker Luka Jovic could be a super signing for the Catalans after the way he has burst onto the scene in the Bundesliga this season. The 21-year-old has scored 15 goals and assisted five times in 24 league outings.

The Serbia international was a goal scorer when his country played to a 1-1 draw against 2014 World Champions Germany on Wednesday evening, thereby showing that he can be lethal next to his national team players as well. That said, the Frankfurter owners whose books Jovic is on, value him at 60 million euros.

On the other hand, Ernesto Valverde wants Barcelona to go for Antoine Griezmann after the France international has started to speculate his Atletico Madrid future yet again. The former Real Sociedad striker’s release clause is 120 million euros, which Barcelona’s board and Messi, Suarez, in particular, feel to be a hefty price tag.

In addition to that, the Catalans face competition for Griezmann from Real Madrid as well. The 13-time European champions have entered as customers for the Frenchman following Zidane’s arrival at the helm, and while Griezmann is in no way the first priority to the Merengues, he continues to be a target, thanks to his goal-scoring prowess.
