Arsenal fans react to Carl Jenkinson’s goal: “Never seen Messi do it”

Arsenal recently took on Al-Nasr in a friendly match, and they beat the Dubai side by a scoreline of 2-3. Only one thing was bound to be spoken about…

With the international break in full swing, Arsenal took it upon themselves to keep their players fit and healthy by playing in Dubai. And rightly so, given that they have many star players not taking part in international duty for various reasons.

Unai Emery’s men took a break from the mundane British weather and travelled to the always-sunny Dubai. It was a successful trip too since the Gunners won by a scoreline of 3-2. After going down early on, up stepped the man, the myth, the legend, Carl Jenkinson. Goals were also scored by Alexandre Lacazette and youngster Tyreece John-Jules.

It’s not the most convincing scoreline in the world, particularly given the competition, however, it was an impressive display overall. It was also nice to see some new names being given a runout, rather than waiting until pre-season.

The likes of Mesut Ozil and Denis Suarez weren’t featured with their respective nations, with Ozil obviously taking early retirement. Fans got to witness some minutes from both of these, which would have been a treat given they’ve both been struggling for game time under Unai Emery.
