Barcelona: Lionel Messi gives the OK to sign ‘next Eden Hazard’

Barcelona’s Lionel Messi has approved the club’s proposed signing of a player dubbed to be the next Eden Hazard.

Barcelona are looking to build their team for the future after realising that the core area of their first team is gradually beginning to age. The likes of Leo Messi and Luis Suarez have touched 30, and unfortunately, the Catalans have no able replacements for either of the two just yet. But it looks like they will target somebody soon.

Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi is the young gun who has caught the eye of those at Barcelona, according to claims. The 18-year-old’s technical ability, speed, dribbling and agility are some factors which really put him a step above most English youngsters, but the issue is that he is struggling to get the minutes at the Stamford Bridge.

The U17 FIFA World Cup Winner is thought to be a replacement for Eden Hazard, whose Real Madrid transfer is imminent during the upcoming summer. That said, Hudson-Odoi is also a bright prospect who may eventually replace Hazard, but Barcelona are keen on buying him especially after Lionel Messi’s suggestion to the board.

The youngster has already made his debut with the Three Lions and did display some eye-catching characteristics even during his very first international outing. Barcelona see him as a replacement to Malcom, who could be leaving the club soon as well as a prospect going into the long-term future.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are expected to be extremely notorious in letting go of Callum Hudson-Odoi easily. As it is, the Blues look set to lose out on Eden Hazard in addition to already being slapped with a transfer sanction by FIFA. However, Hudson-Odoi does have suitors and Chelsea will need to give him assurances and playing time so as to keep him.

On the other hand, there has been no transfer fee discussed in the Barcelona offices, but Bayern Munich and Liverpool have been in the hunt for Hudson-Odoi’s services. The Bavarians are considered favourites to land him at 50 million euros whereas the Reds have also enquired about a potential transfer at 38 million euros.
