Real Madrid are competing with Barcelona for a few signings. The 13 time European champions are now expected to beat the Catalans for one of them.

The summer of 2019 is set to take Barcelona and Real Madrid’s rivalry into the transfer market yet again as two of the most decorated clubs across Europe will be fighting for some of the hottest properties in the continent. Both the teams are looking to overhaul their squads next summer and need to strengthen every position.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are in the hunt for a striker too. The Catalans want to replace the ageing Luis Suarez, whereas Los Merengues want to bring in somebody who can regularly score goals after they got a reality check about relying onto Gareth Bale’s services following Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure.

With that said, Marcus Rashford is the common name which both the clubs are behind. The Manchester United forward is enjoying the season of his life at the Old Trafford and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has really gotten the best out of him over the last three months. However, with the two Spanish giants circling, Rashford could consider offers.

Of course, Manchester United will be showing extreme reluctance in their bid to not let go of the England international. The Mancunian youngster has a contract with the Red Devils up until June 2020, but there are already ongoing talks of an extension that will see Marcus’ salary bump twice of what it is now, to 9 million euros per annum.

There has been no discussion about the price at which either Real Madrid or Barcelona will be opening their bids for Marcus Rashford. However, the Merengues continue to be interested in the Englishman, however, not so much now following Zinedine Zidane’s arrival at the helm last month.

Florentino Perez continues to be a big fan of the talented youngster, but the Real Madrid president has now handed the squad’s command to the manager, who wants to prioritize and pursue other names like Eden Hazard, Sadio Mane and Paul Pogba. However, Zidane himself knows that Madrid needs a hard-core goal scorer.

How much do you think Real Madrid should spend to purchase Marcus Rashford?
