Real Madrid are set to break the bank for at least one player during the summer, but given their expenses, they have created a plan B to ensure efficiency.
Real Madrid’s main objective for the summer is to bring in Kylian Mbappe during the summer transfer window. However, signing the France international is going to be a nerve racking task. The World Cup winner has been on Real Madrid’s radar for a long time now, but the price that is being asked for him is exorbitant.

Kylian Mbappe’s price tag has been set at 350 million euros by Paris Saint-Germain, whose bargaining power is also very high now given that they have escaped Financial Fair Play Sanctions from the FIFA and UEFA, at least tentatively. 350 million euros is a massive price to pay, more so after Real Madrid’s recently launched new Santiago Bernabeu project.
Getting Mbappe in June is going to be a very difficult task and though Real Madrid have the funds and willingness to get him, they have now shortlisted a plan B regarding the Frenchman. Zidane’s Real Madrid will now try to make for move to Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.
The England international has been in red-hot form for the last five years and his age being 25 is enough proof that he can go on for longer. That said, Kane is reportedly frustrated with failing to win any major trophy with Tottenham and will consider a move to Real Madrid, despite stating that he wants to be a ‘one club man’ earlier.
Daniel Levy has set a price tag of 250 million euros on his most priced-possession and could listen to offers from Real Madrid. Meanwhile, the Merengues can afford to spend 250 million on the Spurs striker and could see the price tag lowered to about 180 million euros in case Gareth Bale is sent to north London as part of the deal.
Having said that, Harry Kane will definitely be an exciting player for Real Madrid given his predator-like instincts in the box and he can end up scoring 40 or 50 goals per season. At 31-years-old, Karim Benzema could then play in a system of two strikers or play on the left wing or as an attacking midfielders- two positions he can easily adapt to given his style.
Should Real Madrid pay 250 million euros and sign Harry Kane given Kylian Mbappe’s hefty cost?
