Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has quashed the club and Florentino Perez’s attempt of landing a Paris Saint-Germain superstar.

Real Madrid’s proposed squad revamp during the upcoming summer is set to see them spend a truckload of money on signing some of Europe’s best players. The Whites are looking to use their prestige and history in convincing their targets into joining them, whereas the zesty Zinedine Zidane’s presence in the dugout is being used as bait too.

Paris Saint-Germain’s attacking duo of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe has been on the radar of the European champions for a long time now and either of them will imminently land up in the Spanish capital. Whether it happens this summer or not remains to be seen, but Florentino Perez is on a mission to sign the two talismanic figures from France.

With that said, a few cheap options are also on the table, especially in the midfield where some players could vacate but not at very handsome price tags. Paris Saint-Germain’s Julian Draxler is one such name on the wish list. The Germany international could cost 45 million euros and was linked with a move to the White House even in the past.

Julian Draxler’s move however has been vetoed by Zinedine Zidane who believes that all of the current Madrid midfielders possess more quality than the 25-year-old attacking half. Moreover, the French manager is of the opinion that his team makes expensive and charming signings for once rather than keep experimenting after a tumultuous phase.

Yet, Julian Draxler still is keen on a move to Real Madrid where he believes he could win the UEFA Champions League. The former Schalke midfielder has been publicly critical of Paris Saint-Germain’s failures in Europe despite them spending too much money, and those comments were justified this season as well when they were embarrassingly knocked out by Man United.

Real Madrid already has the likes of Christian Eriksen and Paul Pogba on their radars whereas a move for Adrien Rabiot is also being contemplated about lately. All the three names on their wish list are going to command hefty transfer fees and wages, but keeping Julian Draxler as a last gasp option would not be a bad idea for the Merengues.
