Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is planning to use reigning Ballon d’Or winner Luka Modric as bait to complete a stunning swap deal.
Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric still faces an unclear future at the club in spite of Zinedine Zidane’s arrival. In spite of winning the Ballon d’Or and FIFA’s The Best Player Award some months ago, age is starting to catch up to the Croatia international and he is no longer an indispensable and untouchable player in the squad.

With that said, Zinedine Zidane is a huge admirer of the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder but would not stop his sale if the Whites are going to get a good deal out of it. Meanwhile, Florentino Perez also plans on selling Luka Modric to make room and earn cash for other Galactico signings.
Luka Modric is also fine with leaving the White House for one last challenge and massive pay-cheque and thus, he could have a familiar suitor arriving and asking for his services during the summer- Inter Milan. The Nerrazzuri was interested in the Croat during the summer, but Real Madrid quashed all potential transfer possibilities.
Inter Milan are willing to offer Luka Modric a monstrous salary of 15 million euros annually and give him a three-year contract. Also, he will have an option to retire in the Chinese Super League as the Italian giants have an affiliated team known as Jiangsu Suning. However, the agreement of a transfer fee is a big concern.
The San Siro based outfit is willing to offer 30 million euros for the veteran, whereas Real Madrid are demanding 50 million. That is where the idea of a swap deal is being proposed and Florentino Perez feels like bringing in Milan Skriniar to the Santiago Bernabeu would be a fantastic move benefitting Los Blancos.
He is one of the options to succeed the probably departing Raphael Varane during the summer. The Slovakia international is valued at 80 million euros and has been subject to interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City as well. However, Luka Modric’s involvement in the deal may mean that Inter Milan are ready to sell to Real Madrid.
Milan Skriniar is extremely highly rated and is a great and aggressive player. His ability to win aerial and physical duels is amazing. Also, he is fast, tall and intelligent and matches nearly all of Raphael Varane’s characteristics. Therefore, he could be a super signing for the Merengues if they manage to get a good deal.
Should Real Madrid allow the swap deal to go forward and does it benefit them?
