Real Madrid’s French duo of Karim Benzema and Zinedine Zidane has come to an agreement regarding the club’s goal scoring issue of this season.

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema is leading the top scoring charts at the club and has found the back of the net 26 times this season. The Frenchman is having a blockbuster season since being the main man in the team and despite not being on penalties. As a matter of fact, he is ahead of the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Raheem Sterling in terms of goals.

More from Real Madrid

There is no doubt that he continues to be one of Zinedine Zidane’s indispensable and favourite players. With that said, he will continue to be indispensable under any coach and with any competitor if he keeps playing like this season in the near future. However, he does not have any competition in Madrid and the Blancos are trying to get him just that, as per claims.

The signing of Luka Jovic may go through whereas names like Harry Kane and Mauro Icardi have been linked with the club too. However, a third striker is also needed and he might as well end up being the second striker in the team if more importance is given on signing wingers during the summer transfer money.

Real Madrid’s Raul de Tomas is the man being spoken about in this context. The young forward is enjoying a brilliant season with Rayo Vallecano and has scored numerous goals in the league this season which have helped the Vallecas based team keep hopes of surviving from relegation alive and kicking.

The 24-year-old is being tipped to return to Real Madrid as the club plans to get rid of Dominican Republican striker Mariano Diaz who has failed to deliver. Raul de Tomas could also be loaned out depending on which players stay and leave the club in the summer and who is signed as well.

Karim Benzema will continue to outnumber Raul de Tomas’ appearances for sure in the next season but the French forward will definitely have better competition than he did in 2018/19. Meanwhile, Raul’s task will be to not commit the mistakes made by Mariano this year or Borja Mayoral in the one previous to this.
