Real Madrid have made a decision regarding what will happen to Raphael Varane in the next season following a meeting in their front office.
Real Madrid centre back Raphael Varane has been the subject of transfer rumours lately and there has been a lot of suggestion that he could be heading to the Premier League for a new challenge after having won everything possible at Real Madrid. The Whites have decided against selling Raphael Varane and they will only let him go if an offer worth 500 million euros comes their way, as per reports. That would mean that any suitor would have triggered his release clause and hence, the France international would be free to discuss and close in on personal terms with them.
Los Blancos believe that Raphael Varane has an unparalleled level of experience at just the age of 25, and finding someone with that much quality but of younger age would be a nearly impossible task. Basically, Raphael Varane is seen as an irreplaceable player in the front offices and there is no thought of selling him.
Real Madrid’s decision of not hearing offers could be a blessing in disguise for Raphael Varane. The 25-year-old committed to new terms in the 2016/17 season and has a contract with the defending European champions up until 2022. However, Real Madrid are willing to give the Frenchman a pay-hike as a result of his performances.
It was also believed that Raphael Varane’s payment will be hiked up by 50%, meaning that he will earn 9 million euros from his current salary of 6 million per year. That is something which Raphael Varane is definitely interested in as he does feel under-paid and will be willing to agree upon fresh terms in the coming months.
Apart from the payment, Raphael Varane was also unhappy with the way that Real Madrid dealt with him after he won the World Cup. The club did not facilitate his achievement properly and the defender did feel let down by that, especially after seeing how other teams celebrated their players’ World Cup success. It does seem like Varane is more willing to stay now following Zinedine Zidane’s re-arrival at the helm.
