Manchester United transfer news: Solskjaer to be given record £200m
By Kian Long
Manchester United will not be short of funds this summer, that’s for sure…
Manchester United is one of the richest clubs in the world. Given their history of Premier League and Champions League honours, it’s not hard to see why. It also helps given their immense attendances each week from all over the globe. They are the world’s most popular club, so a lot of expectation is placed on them.
That said, it comes as no surprise that they are willing to break the bank this summer. According to the Sunday Express, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could be given a whopping £200m to carry out transfers. No United manager has been managed with such a fee in the past.
This opens doors for Christian Eriksen and others

As with money, United aren’t short of transfer options either. You could argue they need to strengthen a lot since they sit fifth in the Premier League table. They are 18 points below the leaders and rivals Liverpool, so here are some players that could lessen this gap next season…
Christian Eriksen is the first that springs to mind. The Danish maestro is known for his creative flair, something that United will need especially if Paul Pogba leaves. It will take a lot to convince Daniel Levy to budge and, of course, Real Madrid is also interested. According to the Mirror, the Red Devils are willing to triple Eriksen’s wages if he joins them in the summer.
Secondly, Aaron Wan-Bissaka could be brought in to strengthen the defence. The 21-year-old is immensely talented and dubbed as one of England’s next big prodigies. This means he will not be cheap, especially since Crystal Palace adore him. According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are not bothered by Manchester City’s interest and will indeed rival them. Game on, Pep!
Lastly, at least for today, is Kalidou Koulibaly. The Napoli defender is considered one of the best in the world at the moment and it’s for good reason. Having honed his craft in Italy for some time now, he has learned a thing or two about emulating a brick at the back. According to the Sunday Express, the Senegalese defender is rumoured to be worth £110m, this would blow over a half of Manchester United’s budget, but you can’t say he is not worth it.
While United do not need a squad overhaul this summer, signing a few top quality players will definitely help them in their quest to return to their superclub days.
