Arsenal has had plenty of positive experiences playing against FA Cup finalists, Watford should not faze them…
Arsenal comes up against Watford away from home in the Premier League tonight. Watford has made all of the headlines lately following their emphatic comeback in the FA Cup semifinals against Wolves. However, Arsenal should not be fazed by this. Arsenal is the most successful club to play in the FA Cup, after all, do not disrespect them.
Besides, the Premier League is a completely different competition. The Gunners and The Hornets are in different positions, with the former wishing to retain their place in the top four and the latter wishing to claim seventh. Javi Gracia has done an immense job with the players available to him, that’s not me criticising Watford’s position. I’m just saying, Unai Emery has more to lose.

Wait, wait wait. I know what everybody’s thinking. Troy Deeney‘s comment about Arsenal’s cojones last season? Yeah, I remember it too. However, things have changed now. Emery has instilled a sense of belief into his players and they now have a stronger backbone. The manager believes in them now, and more importantly, the players believe in the manager.
It’s going to be an intense match, I think that’s for certain. I would be inclined to watch the midfield battles between these two sides. Granit Xhaka is returning from injury and Lucas Torreira no longer needs to serve his suspension. On the other hand, Abdoulaye Doucoure is in immense form and being a transfer target at Emirates Stadium, he will be looking to impress on home soil.
Watford has certainly been dark horses this season. However, Arsenal is known to go against the narrative this season. Their home form has been poor, so it’s time to fix that against one of the hardest teams. Let’s just remember the last time these two sides met, Bernd Leno and Mesut Ozil were on fire…
Do you think Arsenal has what it takes to oversee Watford?
