Real Madrid have shortlisted a cheaper alternative for PSG duo Neymar and Kylian Mbappe as well as Liverpool winger Sadio Mane.

Real Madrid’s squad revamp plans are taking an advanced step as they are now plotting deals for some of their prime targets. The likes of Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Sadio Mane continue to be on the Whites’ radar, but with the number of signings they want to make in the summer, blowing up money on either of them could lead to an unbalance in the transfer budget in the accounting books.

More from Real Madrid

Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool have no plans to sell their players and will only listen to Real Madrid in case they offer an extortionate price for the forwards. That said, none of the players are going to cost less than 160 million euros. As a matter of fact, Paris Saint-Germain are demanding 350 million euros for Kylian Mbappe which is a ridiculous price to say the least.

As a result, Los Merengues have decided to shortlist alternative options for the trio. Benfica revelation Joao Felix continues to be a name on their wish list after his explosive displays of late as does Luka Jovic. Ajax Amsterdam forward David Neres has been contended as another different and Zinedine Zidane will be happy if Real Madrid manage to sign the Brazil international.

David Neres’ performances are no secrets in the Real Madrid dugout and his goal during the round of 16 against them will always be one to remember. His finish against Juventus last week was a brush stroke of art as well, as is his overall gameplay. Neres is amazing with playing diagonal balls and making those runs, whereas his speed, agility and vision deserve an equal amount of credit too.

At 22, his brilliant performances with the Dutch giants have already caught the eyes of some of Europe’s top clubs like Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United and Napoli; apart from Real Madrid. Apparently, the Bundesliga giants have already made an offer of 33 million euros for the Brazil international but Ajax Amsterdam demand 50.

Given that potentially Sadio Mane is going to cost 160 million, Neymar is going to cost 200 million and Kylian Mbappe commands a price tag of 350 million, Joao Felix continues to be a cheaper alternative at 120 million. However, David Neres’ name does sound attractive now that he is available for a reasonably cheap price as compared to others.

Do you think David Neres would be able to handle the pressure at Real Madrid and deal with the challenge?
