Barcelona have assured to Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez that they will be signing one of four targeted big-money forwards during the summer.

Barcelona duo Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez has scored a truckload of goals this season. Both of them have been competing against entire teams in terms of league goals, but when they are absent, it looks like Barcelona’s attack is absent. Visibly, the Catalans struggle to score without them and look like a complete contrast of their usual selves.

Ousmane Dembele, Philippe Coutinho and Malcom have all failed to maintain consistency in front of goal, and are only managing to fire in a couple of matches before going dormant again. It is high time that Barcelona manage to relieve the pressure of their South American frontmen and there is going to be a motion to do so in the summer.

Eintracht Frankfurt’s Luka Jovic was thought to be the primary target for the Blaugrana, but the Serbia international wants assurances over playing time which Barcelona clearly are not wanting to offer. As a result, all signs point towards the 21-year-old heading to the home of Barcelona’s arch rivals- Real Madrid- for a fee in excess of 50 million euros.

Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez are clearly unhappy that the lethal scorer is going to Madrid, but the club’s technical director Eric Abidal has given assurances to the duo that Barcelona are working on the signing of as many as four galactic forwards. While signing all of them is definitely not happening, at least one of them would be signed.

Spain international Rodrigo Moreno is the first name on Barcelona’s wish list. He is highly regarded at Barcelona and his exploits at Valencia have not gone under blind eyes. He is a regular in the Spanish team and there is no reason to believe why he cannot replicate his form from recent years at Catalonia.

Marcus Rashford of Manchester United is another player linked to the club. The board does find him a good match, but the heavyweights in the club are not big fans of him. Antoine Griezmann is the third player who makes the four man shortlist. The France international wants a move away from Atletico Madrid and Barcelona do interest him, despite all that happened last year.

Finally, Nicolas Pepe of Olympique Lyon has been thought as an attractive option. The Lille forward has burst onto the scene in Ligue 1 this season and has several other suitors looking out for him. He could be a cheaper alternative for the aforementioned name. That said, the idea is primarily to make Ousmane Dembele a regular next season and sign a lethal backup forward.
