Real Madrid is not going to be short of options this summer…
Real Madrid is currently undergoing a period of transition. After they looked down and out under their former manager Santiago Solari, they recalled Zinedine Zidane to take charge. The Frenchman has plenty of experience with the Spanish capital so he will look to assert his authority in true fashion once more.
This will include spending big in the transfer market. Real Madrid possesses plenty of quality, however, they need to bring in a few quality players if they wish to keep up with Barcelona. According to El Confidencial, Los Blancos are not playing around since they have TWO transfer strategies in place. If they fail to land Eden Hazard, then they will chase Manchester United’s Paul Pogba and Liverpool’s Sadio Mane.

I know, right? It doesn’t seem real. Those are three of the best players in the Premier League, all of which are on Madrid’s radar. It just goes to show that Zinedine Zidane is not playing any games.
However, it does seem unlikely at this point that Eden Hazard will remain at Chelsea. They are playing the worst football inside the Premier League top six, something which is way below the Belgian’s standards. If they manage to clinch the Europa League or pull off a miracle and finish in the top four, then Hazard could leave on a high. Either way, I predict him to leave.
That said, it is good to see Real Madrid considering all options. It’s not set in stone (albeit likely) that Hazard will join the Spanish club. If he does not, then Zidane has two incredible backup options.
Sadio Mane is an electrifying winger. He is perhaps in the best form of his life this season, even topping the heights he set two seasons ago. He has set plenty of games alight this season, including most recently against Chelsea. His football intelligence is often overlooked since he knows when and where to make the right runs. Still, his goalscoring ability makes him who he is.
Madrid fans already know plenty about Paul Pogba, since its not the first time a report has linked them to the Frenchman. He is dynamic and versatile, although his best traits revolve around his dribbling. He likes to drive forward with purpose and allow his teammates to engage with his creativity. He too would definitely benefit Zidane’s side going forward.
