The 21-year-old has been closely followed by Real Madrid’s scouting network of late and his revelation season has caught the eye of a lot of suitors, including the Whites’ arch-rivals Barcelona. However, Jovic’s personal preference is the Santiago Bernabeu given the guarantees which the Merengues offer with regards to playing time.
In 27 Bundesliga matches this season, Luka Jovic has scored 17 goals and made eight more so far in the season. His exploits in the UEFA Europa League are of great attraction as well. Luka Jovic has scored eight goals and provided one assist on the continental front this season, thereby being instrumental to his side’s qualification to the UEL semi-finals.
Luka Jovic is the epitome of a lethal player in the 18 yard area and is exactly what Real Madrid needed. His transfer fee is expected to be in the range of 50 and 60 million euros, 20% of which will be going to his former club SL Benfica. Matters regarding the length of his contract and wages still remain confidential.
The Serbia international’s arrival in the summer would mean that the door in the Bernabeu closes for Raul de Tomas, who has been brilliant on his loan spell with Rayo Vallecano. The 24-year-old is reluctant in playing second fiddle to Benzema or Jovic and might leave on another loan spell. That could probably see Mariano Diaz play a part-time role for another year.
Will Luka Jovic be a success at Real Madrid and help them get back to Europe’s summit?
