Real Madrid is looking at every option in order to get rid of Gareth Bale in the summer.
Gareth Bale‘s time at Real Madrid has not gone the way everyone expected. He arrived back in 2013 for, at the time, a record fee and the expectation was that alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, they would form one of the best attacks in Europe. That plan never fully materialized.
Now, all signs are pointing to an exit at the end of the season. Rumours of Bale’s departure have been on and off for a while but the transfer fee has always been the issue for any proposed move. However, Real Madrid is apparently going to make that a non-issue.

According to Marca, Real Madrid are so desperate to get rid of Gareth Bale that not is they willing to negotiate the asking price, but the club is prepared to accept a loan deal with an option to but at the end of the loan. It’s a tremendous fall from grace for someone who was looked at as a future Ballon d’Or winner and the one tipped to take over once Ronaldo left.
Real Madrid knows that they are not going to get what the fee they want for Bale. But under Zinedine Zidane, he is not a first-choice player. He is not that now and he wasn’t that in Zidane’s first tenure.
At this moment, he does not have the support of anyone around him. He is not trusted by the manager and he has not had the support of the Madrid faithful for a while now. That lack of support was in full display in their game against Athletic Bilbao when he came on as a substitute. He was jeered by the home crowd and he gestured back at their disapproval.
The fact of the matter is that Gareth Bale’s time at Madrid has been marred full of inconsistencies and injuries. Sure he would come back in time for the Champions League final and contribute in one way or another but it was never enough. He certainly didn’t do himself any favours when after the final last season, he declared that it may be time for a move just moments after his team had won it.
With Real Madrid looking to revamp the squad over the summer, Gareth Bale is high on the list of players that the club will be looking to offload. If and when that happens, despite the titles, his time in Spain will be seen as somewhat of a disappointment.
