It’s been a transfer saga and a half but Manchester United may have found their resolution…

Paul Pogba shocked the world when he moved from Juventus back to his boyhood club Manchester United. At the time, his £89m fee was the world record but this was obviously smashed out of the park by Neymar at Paris Saint-Germain. The French midfielder has done excellently but he still receives his critics, many would argue unjustly.

Perhaps this swayed his decision to leave Manchester United, as reported by L’Equipe. The French outlet reports that Pogba has informed his teammates at Old Trafford that he wishes to leave the Red Devils. It’s also reported that Manchester United will not turn down a move from Real Madrid this summer.

More from Manchester United

With Zinedine Zidane at the helm of Real Madrid again, this could be an excellent opportunity for Pogba to flourish into the player has always had the ingredients to be. The French influence will play a big part in Pogba’s career trajectory, however, he must not become starstruck. He probably grew up watching Zidane strut the pitch with his notorious style, so there’s plenty to learn.

The 26-year-old is fast approaching his prime years so there has never been a better time to sign him. Having had the privilege of playing alongside the likes of Andrea Pirlo and Wayne Rooney, he has certainly crafted his playing style well and became rather versatile.

Pogba is a midfield enforcer, meaning he just gets things done. However, you will often find him in the attacking third or at least playing lengthy through balls that reach this third. He uses his flair to beat players with ease, which will serve him well should he move to La Liga.

United is bound to miss its academy player. He is one of the best players available at Ole Trafford and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will know that. However, with their current predicament of Champions League football not looking likely, United might just not cut it for Paul Pogba anymore.
