Los Blancos are getting set to bid farewell to Gareth Bale under high circumstances and have shortlisted Liverpool winger Sadio Mane as replacement for the Wales international. The former Spurs forward has struggled to maintain with fitness and his attitude is not much appreciated by the players and fans either.
Meanwhile, Sadio Mane is having a blockbuster season on Merseyside and has been instrumental for Liverpool, who are lining up hopes for a double of the Premier League and UEFA Champions League. The Senegal international has scored 24 times this season across all competitions this season.
However, Barcelona are hoping to indirectly steal a march on Real Madrid by blocking Sadio Mane’s transfer to Spain’s capital, according to Diario GOL. With Philippe Coutinho on the brink of departing the club after disappointing for a year and a half, Liverpool want Mohamed Salah as they eye a winger during the summer on Lionel Messi’s recommendation.
There has been talk that the Egypt international and Jurge n Klopp have had a rift, but despite the German manager denying such claims, Barcelona will stake interest in Salah. That being said, Mohamed Salah has been equally influential for Liverpool this season and has wreaked havoc in the final third alongside Sadio Mane.
The Catalans will be looking to send Philippe Coutinho to Liverpool but failing to do so, they will have to pay a 115 million euros’ premium to the Reds following a recent agreement. Thus, Mohamed Salah’s transfer cost might beat Neymar’s of 222 million euros and set the world record two years after the Brazil international moved to Paris Saint-Germain.
Should Salah switch to Barcelona, though it seems unlikely at the moment, Sadio Mane’s departure from Liverpool will be prohibited. The Reds simply cannot afford to lose two of their best attacking players one behind the other and that is certainly going to be a big blow to the ambitions of Real Madrid for whom Mane will be a magnificent recruit.
Do you think Mohamed Salah will be playing at Barcelona in the 2019/20 campaign?
