The Spaniard oozes with skill and has a bright future ahead of him, but to continue building up and reaching a standard that will allow him to feature regularly at Real Madrid, Brahim does require a spell out on loan. Zidane does like the 19-year-old, but wants him to play regularly but knows that it is not a feasible option at the Bernabeu.
Some of Los Blancos’ senior-most players have asked Brahim Diaz to hunt for a house in Barcelona as Espanyol have vested interest in him, according to Fox Sports. Real Madrid are sure that the opportunity at the Cornella El-Prat Stadium will benefit the former Manchester City man and they can take comfort on previous records from their dealings with the club.
Firstly, Espanyol and Real Madrid get along well as they are direct rivals of Barcelona. Next, Real Madrid have sent several players on loan spells to Espanyol and the success rate from the Catalan outings has been tremendous. Lucas Vazquez and Marco Asensio are recent examples, whereas Madrid’s interest in Mario Hermoso can be seen as proof too.
The likes of Isco, Modric, Kroos and Asensio are already ahead of Brahim Diaz in the Real Madrid pecking order and things could only get worse for the Spanish footballer in case Paul Pogba or Christian Eriksen end up signing for the club. As a result, Espanyol could be a hot destination for the youngsters. Additionally, he wouldn’t have to adapt to a new culture and country.
Do you think Brahim Diaz could be successful at Real Madrid following a loan spell at Espanyol?
