Aaron Ramsey can go down as an Emirates Stadium legend, but Arsenal fans won’t like this news…

Aaron Ramsey will unfortunately not be playing another match for Arsenal, according to boss Unai Emery. This is not out of choice, rather out of unforeseen circumstances. Ramsey picked up an injury against Napoli in the second leg of the Europa League tie and after a lengthy assessment of the Welshman’s injury, Emery states Ramsey won’t play another game for Arsenal. This is according to ESPN.

Ramsey will complete his move to Juventus before he even kicks a football again, much to the disappointment of Arsenal fans. He has been playing at the Emirates Stadium for the longest out of any player in the current squad and he blossomed into quite the player. For me, he has been one of the best players this season so he will be sincerely missed.

Arsenal comes up against Valencia this Thursday, so it will be interesting to see how Emery sets up in midfield without the Welshman. They will have to find a way to attack without Ramsey, which will probably involve starting Mesut Ozil. I mean, Emery would be silly not to given how Valencia set up. Of course, Arsenal will need to defend but they must not give Valencia TOO much respect in that regard. If anyone can unlock the Valencia defence, it’s Ozil.

As for the rest of the season, Arsenal seriously needs to improvise. If they were to finish in the top four of the Premier League, then Ramsey would have been pivotal to this. Emery knows this, as in his press conference with ESPN he claimed that he “wanted to do something important in his last matches” with Arsenal.

It’s a shame to see, but the Gunners must not let this news get to them. They need to approach this Valencia clash with a fresh head, since it may be their only chance of Champions League football next season.
