Christian Eriksen is nearing closer to his dream Real Madrid move…
Real Madrid is looking forward to a busy transfer window. In fact, they’re probably planning which moves they can make already given they have no hope of silverware for the remainder of the season. Zinedine Zidane is at the helm again, so he will want to add his own touches if Los Blancos are to progress further.
According to AS, one of Real Madrid’s biggest targets Christian Eriksen has ‘verbally agreed’ to a move to the Santiago Bernabeu. Obviously, Real Madrid will still need to negotiate with Daniel Levy, however, this may be easier than usual given the Dane has just one year remaining on his current contract (via transfermarkt).

I’m going to take a wild guess that Eriksen is not happy at Tottenham given that he has verbally agreed of a move away. However, to do so at such a time is bizarre. Tottenham still has a slim chance at winning the Champions League if they can turn things around against Ajax. Also, let’s not forget that the top four race is still on in the Premier League, so to leave now would have serious repercussions for Tottenham.
Eriksen is a talented player, I don’t think anybody can deny that. His creativity and passing are what strikes me most about him, although he is more than able to get on the scoresheet himself. As of WhoScored, the Danish midfielder has scored seven goals and provided 12 assists in the Premier League this season. This unselfish brand of play will benefit the players alongside him and it’s just what Real Madrid needs going forward.
Real Madrid is in a privileged position right now. With Eriksen rumouredly agreeing to personal terms, they can either sign him easier than expected or, of course, wait until next summer to land him for free. I assume that Zidane would rather the first option, but the second is always there should the board wish to save some cash.
Do you think Christian Eriksen will complete his move to Real Madrid anytime soon?
