3. Kieran Trippier

Clearly, right back has been a big problem area for Pochettino this season. Trippier’s play has been a major source of dissatisfaction for everyone associated with the club. He’s never been a perfect player, but he’s been poor on both ends of the pitch this year.

At his best, Trippier is a passable defender who makes up for that weakness with his ability to ping dangerous crosses into the box. That’s precisely what he did for England this summer at the World Cup. Unfortunately for Spurs, that offensive ability has abandoned him during the current Premier League campaign.

The good news for Spurs is that other European clubs still seem to be enamored with what Trippier can be on his best day. According to The Sun, Napoli have already made an offer for the Englishman’s services. £17 million isn’t going to get a deal done, but Tottenham can expect larger offers to come once the transfer window actually opens.

Trippier presents the club with a real opportunity to sell a player for a massive profit. The idea for Spurs should be to offload him early in the summer while they still have time to reinvest his fee in a better player. He’s a player that should be actively shopped by Pochettino.
