Despite the inevitable loss of Eden Hazard to Real Madrid, all is not lost for Blues supporters…

It’s never easy replacing an all-world talent, especially when he’s been a fixture at a club for the better part of a decade, but with Chelsea star winger Eden Hazard all but out the door and on his way to Real Madrid to play under Zinedine Zidane at the historic setting of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, it’s becoming more of a reality everyday that the Blues will have to cope with next season and move on from.

It totality, Hazard has appeared in a Chelsea kit just around 350 times and scored over 100 times for the club, winning two Premier League titles (2014/15, 2016/17), an FA Cup (2017/18), a Carabao Cup (2015/15) and an Europa League title (2012/13).

He will not be replaced any time soon, at least not by any one player. Chelsea will need to be strategic with how they approach the development of their young players coupled with savvy transfer signings, as it does not appear that Russian business tycoon and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is prepared to spend like he had once before.

Needless to say, having a Hazard on your club is better than no Hazard, but if one were to try to find a sliver lining on this precarious situation, there are several ways Chelsea could potentially benefit from his departure and thereby turn the page onto a new chapter of a historic football club that can still very well compete with some of the biggest clubs in Europe.
