Real Madrid have shortlisted a cheaper and better rated alternative for primed target Luka Jovic, currently on Eintracht Frankfurt’s books.

Real Madrid’s biggest priority in the transfer market is signing a player who can be lethal in front of goal and ensure that there is a consistency on the goal scoring front. The Whites are close to signing Eden Hazard from Chelsea, but the Belgium international only partially fits the bill. As a result, Luka Jovic of Eintracht Frankfurt is also a prime target.

More from Real Madrid

The Serbia international has been in magnificent form this year, in what has been his breakthrough season and is on the radars of Barcelona and Real Madrid. The player prefers a move to Spain’s capital because they can assure him playing time and are also providing a better pay-cheque than what the Catalans are giving.

However, the Bundesliga outfit, who earlier valued Luka Jovic at 60 million euros have now inflated his evaluation to 80 million euros as they look to make optimum use of other sides’ interest in him and Real Madrid’s desperation in signing a striker. As per the Fox Sports, Florentino Perez has now shortlisted a cheaper alternative for Jovic.

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the chosen option. The Gabonese frontman has proven to be beastly in front of goal for the north Londoners and has notched 29 goals and provided 8 assists in all competitions this season. A UEFA Europa League semi-final hat-trick at Valencia on Thursday comprises three of those goals.

The 29-year-old would cost Real Madrid 75 million euros and is a proven and prime striker, as compared to Luka Jovic, who has just shined for one season to this point and is still an amateur. Aubameyang has spoken about has talked about his desire of playing for Real Madrid from his Borussia Dortmund days, but for the time being- Arsenal may be reluctant in selling him.

Do you think Real Madrid must prioritize on Aubameyang ahead of Jovic?
