Two of the Premier League’s top six clubs- Arsenal and Manchester United- are interested in signing a Real Madrid superstar.

Real Madrid face a massive overhaul during the summer and Zinedine Zidane will be allowing a few players who are not in his plans for the next campaign to leave the club. The Whites’ manager has shortlisted defensive midfielder Marcos Llorente among those who will not be at the club in the next season and has already told the player of his decision.

More from Real Madrid

According to a report published by the Metro, Marcos Llorente has already become the subject of interest from two giants of the Premier League, namely Arsenal and Manchester United. Both of the teams have already approached Los Blancos to talk about the potential signing of the 24-year-old once the transfer window opens.

Zinedine Zidane has no hesitation in stopping Marcos Llorente and would let him leave the club. The Frenchman is aware of the midfielder’s talents and skill, but he believes that Casemiro is far ahead of him at this point and Llorente would be better off playing regularly elsewhere from the start of next season.

Arsenal already have Lucas Torreira and Mateo Guendouzi in their accounts, so there is no big reason as to why they would go for Marcos Llorente’s signing. However, Manchester United’s interest in the Spaniard does make a lot of sense given that Ander Herrera will leave the club. Also, Fred has not been too good for them.

Marcos Llorente was not given chances by Zinedine Zidane in the 2017/18 season and neither was Julen Lopetegui’s arrival enough to alter that. However, Santiago Solari did give the midfielder an ample amount of chances and it’s fair to say that Marcos Llorente did not disappoint with what he had in store.

While Real Madrid might be pursuing other targets such as N’Golo Kante or Adrien Rabiot, they must not let go of Marcos Llorente unless it is on a loan deal or a clause that includes a buyback option in the coming years. After all, Casemiro has proven to be frail lately and Llorente had stepped up to the occasion when the Brazilian was facing injury issues.

How much should Real Madrid expect to earn by selling Marcos Llorente?
