The Chelsea forward has decided he wants to join Real Madrid…

Chelsea enjoyed a successful end to the season. They secured their place in the Champions League with a game to spare, despite this looking unlikely throughout courses of the season. Eden Hazard has been a huge part of Chelsea’s season, although he has received help from Maurizio Sarri and his teammates. It’s been a collective effort, but of course, Chelsea probably wouldn’t have finished where they were if it wasn’t for Hazard.

Now, rumours from the Daily Mail suggest he has pushed for a move to Real Madrid this summer. In case you didn’t know, the Belgian attacker will run out of contract next summer, so Chelsea technically doesn’t NEED to sell him. Although, they will be jeopardising money if they decide to keep him through the summer.

Real Madrid and Chelsea will both be playing in the Champions League next season, and both have had subpar seasons. However, it’s hard to invalidate Hazard’s thought process. It goes without saying that Real Madrid is on a different level to Chelsea and they will be for many years. For any player, it is the dream to play for Los Blancos.

Hazard is a very skilful player and, in my eyes, is one of the best in the world. That said, Real Madrid will get something from the transfer should it happen. He has flair and creativity in abundance, however, he is also capable of coming up with the spectacular. Chelsea was the only team to beat Liverpool at Anfield this season and it was all thanks to a piece of Eden Hazard independent brilliance.

Chelsea would have probably played hardball, but now it’s revealed that Hazard wants to leave, they don’t have that luxury. It’s clear he’s not going to sign the contract, so they might as well get some money from his name while they can. It would be the most respectful outcome.

However, perhaps the most important factor to consider is Chelsea’s transfer ban. They will not be able to recruit any new players this season, which could hinder their decision to sell Hazard by making them more reluctant to sell. If they can’t sign a replacement, then why should they snatch money from the Spanish capital?

Do you think Eden Hazard will be a Real Madrid player this summer?
