Real Madrid: Luka Modric and Zinedine Zidane meet to decide the Croat’s future

Luka Modric, who is subject to interest from Inter Milan, has now talked to Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane regarding his future in Spain.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane will be having complete authority over his transfer side’s business for the upcoming campaign. All the players who are deemed surplus to the manager’s plans will be sold, and those who are wanted by the Frenchman will be approached within a certain budget.

The 46-year-old has already talked to Gareth Bale, Dani Ceballos and Marcos Llorente. The trio has been told to find other clubs. Bale has been linked with a return to the Premier League, West Ham United are expected to be in contention to land Dani Ceballos and Arsenal as well as Manchester United will look to sign the defensive midfielder Llorente.

Next on the agenda for Zinedine Zidane is to have a one on one meeting with Toni Kroos and Raphael Varane. The former has been linked with a transfer to the Premier League and Zidane wants to clarify stuff, whereas in case of Varane, the coach will convince his compatriot to stay and continue with Real Madrid’s project.

According to Diario GOL, Zinedine Zidane has already held talks with Luka Modric. The Croatia international has been told that his performances since 2018 have taken a significant dip. However, the gaffer still trusts the defendant of the Golden Ball and will let him play an important role in the team for at least another year.

When Modric questioned Zidane about the potential signings of Christian Eriksen or Paul Pogba, he answered by saying that only one of them will be signed and he plans to use them as a replacement to Kroos. The German has also performed horribly of late and that could possibly be because he may have one eye on the Premier League where Man City are interested.
