They are known as the ‘Bianconeri’ translating as the black and white.

The Juventus strip of multiple black and white vertical strips has been iconic for many decades in Italy and across the continent. The strip is often accompanied with black or white shorts. A simple but effective design.

The traditional view at the Allianz Arena will now be slightly different as Cristiano Ronaldo, Giorgio Chiellini and others will be stepping out in a different kit.

The kit has changed from the original format for the forthcoming season, with the new strip sporting a single black and white panel, divided by a small pink strip. It is finished off with black adidas shorts and black socks.

The Italian champions debuted their new kit for next season in their weekend loss against Roma and the kit has already caused mixed reaction with Italy, especially Turin.

According to Football-Italia, the club and Adidas have redesigned the strip for commercial reasons and to appeal to the American audience. The design has been adopted following research that found sports fans in North America often found the previous iconic strips similar to a referee jersey, worn in many of the American dominated sports.

Although the marketing rumours have surfaced, the club have given their reasons for the change.

"‘For Juventus, tradition is not a limit but an inspiration to write the future. The home kit for the 2019/20 season interprets this concept and promises to become the protagonist of the next season. The jersey stands out for an original design with only two strips, defined on the front by a contrasting pink detail that recalls the first colour worn by the team on the field.’"

A move that will prove the test of time whether it can expand the Old Lady brand into the ever-growing and demanding market in North America.

Although they had a testing time in their first game in their new kit, Massimiliano Allegri will be hoping the club can replicate their domestic success and achieve their goal within Europe in their new strip.
