Tottenham and Liverpool are believed to have identified a German attacking midfielder as their main target once the rumoured teams have competed for the Champions League.

International Julian Brandt has been interesting a number of teams of late and has confessed that his future may lie away from Bayern Leverkusen should the west German team fail to reach the Champions League next season.

The club lies in fifth position and level on points with Borussia Mönchengladbach, who with a win against Hertha Berlin standing them a good chance of gaining that qualification position in their final game. Especially as the competing team will face off against Borussia Dortmund, who will be hoping for a miracle to win the Bundesliga title.

So a good chance that his Champions League demand/dream will be fulfilled come the end of the season, however would that be enough to keep him with bigger clubs circling.

"The 23-year-old said: “The Champions League is a big thing, so I’m 100 percent here next season, I’m grateful for five and a half years and I know exactly what I have at Leverkusen, where something good comes together, that’s a signal for the players “"

The winger comes at a good price too as his release clause within his contract is said to be 25 million euros. A snip at that price in the current market, with Liverpool and Tottenham both keen.

So, where is best for the in-demand German international?

Going to Liverpool, he will arrive at Anfield and won’t be guaranteed a first-team position due to the current team’s form, especially Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah. Likely to start from the bench, he will get the odd chance of featuring and may improve the team’s fortunes domestically and maintain their European run.

One defining positive that may sway his decision to arrive in Merseyside is an opportunity to work under Jurgen Klopp. His German compatriot has earned himself a tag of being one of the best manager’s in the world and no player is likely to turn down the opportunity to work with Klopp due to his team’s style .

That can also be said of Mauricio Pochettino as he is slowly earning the tag of being one of the greatest, with the majority of European giants wanting him as their next boss.

Brandt will fit into the Tottenham team with greater ease and will be considered a first-team player, competing with Dele Alli, Heung Ming-Son and Lucas Moura to play behind Harry Kane.

The London life will be suitable for the German while the new Spurs stadium contributing another bonus of playing in North London.
